MY (FUNNY) TAKE ON BUDGET 2022

I made a note on Budget 2022 and thought of putting it as my first post on my blog. ‘What better way to start a blog than with the budget?’ I thought. So, I sent the final draft to my husband and mother for approval. Husband outrightly rejected it and conveyed its dullness and blandness quite expressively. Mother didn’t say a word. Well, I know what her silence means (most of the time) so I decided to drop the idea of putting it as my first post and planned to write about the Budget in some creative way. So here it is…

My (funny) take on Budget 2022

  • Imitation Jewellery to get costlier and diamonds get cheaper… (Ladies, now you know what to buy and Guys, you know what to gift!)
  • 25000 km road to be constructed in 2022 i.e.  around 68 km road per day…That’s quite commendable. Roads are getting better while fuel gets more expensive. What a predicament for road trip lovers like us! Will have to consider about buying an EV next.
  • 400 new Vandemataram trains are to be introduced. Oil is very costly people… Start travelling in trains.
  • There is no change in personal income tax. Well, focus on the positive. At least you won’t be paying more on your income (and CA in me is very happy. It is difficult to mug new slabs every year, you know).
  • Some deductions for income were expected but none were introduced. You don’t always get everything you wish for. Fact of life.
  • Umbrellas are getting pricier. Buy raincoats now. Good thing that we don’t see much rain in Ahmedabad.
  • Digital money to be introduced. Feel lesser and lesser guilty about online shopping.
  • Cryptocurrency to be taxed at 30% and TDS at 1%. Feeling sorry for all youngsters who wanted to jump into Cryptocurrency trend. Guys, it’s not legal yet, just taxable.
  • Buy your 10th new headphone before 1st April. It’s going to get costlier.
  • Parts of electronic toys to get costlier. Now when your kid throws a tantrum at toy store, pay for that toy using digital currency so its price won’t pinch.
  • Updated return can be filed within two years from the relevant assessment year. Rejoice fellow lazy people!
  • IPO of LIC expected soon. Mark your calendar and join the IPO madness.
  • National tele- mental health programme to be launched. I am going to need it the most with a hyperactive kid at home since last 2 years.

I think this budget is definitely feminist. So much for women (Can’t get over cheaper diamonds). So, Cheers with our hot cocoa (It is getting cheaper too so better to form a habit from now) and feel good by looking at our investments in stock market which has taken this budget very positively.
